Analysis of the development prospects and future trends of the Chinese gummy candy industry
The Chinese gummy candy industry still has a lot of "sweetness" in the next 10-15 years. This is because China still needs a large number of domestic gummy brands to fill the market. However, in the next 10 years, the gummy industry will also face fierce competition. Therefore, Chinese gummy manufacturers need to pay more attention to market segmentation, understand consumer needs, and innovate significantly. Only then can they occupy a favorable position in the gummy industry.
As the total demand for candy in our country continues to rise at this stage, competition among manufacturers is becoming increasingly fierce. Many candy manufacturers choose to use synthetic pigments to ensure that candies have a more vibrant appearance, stimulating consumer purchases.
In the new wave of consumption, every segmented category contains infinite possibilities. The new generation of young users' demand for quality life and nutritional health makes it clear that the hidden hardcore strength and explosive potential beneath the "soft exterior" of nutritional gummies cannot be underestimated.
In 2016, China's candy production was 3.5185 million tons, with a growth rate of 1.85%, only increasing by 63,800 tons compared to last year. Production declined for two consecutive years from 2017 to 2018, with a production of 2.8837 million tons in 2018, a year-on-year decrease of 12.99% compared to 2017. In 2019, production was approximately 3.3772 million tons.
Although China's candy industry output has shown fluctuations in recent years, especially with significant changes in 2018, overall it still shows a slight upward trend. From 2017 to 2020, the compound annual growth rate of gummy production was about 0.93%. It is expected that in the coming years, as demand for gummy products increases and production technology matures and updates, output will continue to grow and exceed 498,400 tons by 2025.
